We begin the hearing check appointment by talking with you to find out how we can help. We'll listen closely to your concerns and needs. The Test
Our audiologists will administer your hearing test to determine whether you have any hearing loss (and if so to work out the type and extent). Our tests are highly accurate and build a clear picture of your current hearing. The tests are painless and will involve you wearing headphones that play tones in one ear at a time. You will be asked to indicate when you hear a tone.
From the results, we can determine at what level you can hear different sounds, but especially the level at which you understand speech (in both noisy and in quiet environments).

We will explain your test results and identify whether you have any hearing loss. If you do, we'll discuss treatment options, which range from communication strategies, hearing aids and other assistive devices, to a referral to another medical specialist if warranted. We will answer any questions you may have about your hearing loss.
